Government of Canada (Federal government) Officers and representatives

  • The Governor General is the Queen’s representative for all Canada and acts as the Head of State. The Governor General is:

  • The Prime Minister is the Head of Government. The Prime Minister is:
    The Right Honourable Stephen Harper.
  • The party in power is:
    The Conservative Party of Canada.
  • The party of the Official Opposition is:
    The Liberal Party of Canada. (Lib.)
  • The leader of the Official Opposition is:
    Michael Ignatieff.
  • The other opposition parties and their leaders are:

    Representatives for the Government of Canada are chosen by elections. If you do not know the name of the electoral district, or riding, in which you live, first look at the maps created by Elections Canada to see where your home is located.

Windsor West your representative is Brian Masse (NDP);
Windsor-Tecumseh your representative is Joe Comartin (NDP);
Essex your representative is Jeff Watson (Conservative)
