Library Gears Up For Expanded Outreach Opportunities

Much like the recent reincarnation of 1970s muscle cars, their present day nameplates have very little in common with their predecessors. Likewise, bookmobiles from the same era bare no similarity with versions seen on the road today. They are bristling with the latest technology, innovative library programming and serve as community WIFI hubs. With the recent purchase of a customized GMC vehicle, Windsorites have the opportunity and freedom to read, educate and discover what Windsor Public Library has to offer…wherever you live in the community. Fun with Pets: finding more with BiblioCommons

The group is composed of the legendary lead singer Gord Downie, and also includes the amazing  guitarists Paul Langlois and Rob Baker, the excellent bassist Gord Sinclair, and the incredible drummer Johnny Fay. For many, they are the ultimate Canadian rock band. Since 1984 they have released 14 studio albums and two live albums, 1 EP, and 54 singles. Nine of their albums have reached No. 1 in Canada, and they have 14 Continue Reading...

Windsor Public Library Welcomes Syrian Teens

One of my favourite parts of my job is introducing new people to library services. I love being able to show people the very exciting resources that are available for free to anyone with a library card which is also free to any resident of Essex County. I feel like Santa Claus listing off all of the free resources, particularly when people erroneously think there are charges for programs, cards, or borrowing materials and I get to give them the good news: they get tons of value Continue Reading...
