A library has been established in the South Walkerville area since 1929, first in Hugh Beaton Public School, then in John Campbell Public School. The library outgrew this location and in 1959 was moved to its current home on Tecumseh Road East, expanding in its collection and space as the need has arose. South Walkerville Library maintains a collection of dictionaries, atlases and encyclopedias, current fiction, popular magazines, videos, audio tapes and CDs. Quick reference and research assistance to grade 10 level is available and there are 10 computer stations and free Internet access for patrons to use. Information not available at this branch can be obtained from another Windsor Public Library with same day service via fax. Hardcopy documents will arrive the following day. |
