Georgian Loyalist, Queen Anne, Greek revival, Tudor and Gothic - you'll
see it all! Travelling via Transit Windsor, Evelyn McLean will guide
us through the diverse architectural styles that make Windsor what
it is today. Our trip will begin in Sandwich and we will wind our way
through the streets of Windsor ending up in Walkerville. Many of the
buildings that we will see, will be from our seats on the bus, we will
however be entering four on our trip.
Our first stop will be the 1798 Duff-Baby Mansion in Sandwich where
we will see the restored interior that reflects both the 18th century
Baby and 20th century Beasley occupations. Continuing on our trip Evelyn
will highlight some of the significant buildings in Sandwich such as
the First Baptist Church, Mackenzie Hall and Assumption Collage en route
to the François Baby House where we will stop for refreshments
and then continue our trip to Walkerville. Here we will look at the Monmouth
Road row houses, St. Mary's Anglican Church and the Hiram Walker Administration
building.
