Seniors’ month is a good time, not only to celebrate the contributions of our older citizens, but to also explore ideas for what we may do ourselves when we are in our senior years.
Many people look forward to retirement as a time when they can pursue hobbies and new interests. On Wednesday June 4, a group of crafters from the McEwan Avenue branch of Life After 50 (formerly the Centre for Seniors) visited the Central Branch and demonstrated a number of handicrafts, including crocheting, knitting, plastic canvas needlework, beading, jewellery making and quilting. Passersby picked up tips and ideas from the ladies and all enjoyed a good chat.
Thanks to everyone for coming.
