Writing and Illustration Club starts this week!

THIS TUESDAY MARCH 18TH AT 6PM will mark the first meeting of the new Writing and Illustration Club at WPL’s Riverside Branch.  We will meet every other week for the remainder of 2014!  This tween and teen program (ages 8+) is designed for beginner and intermediate writers to build a greater understanding of the creative writing process.  It is also a safe haven to share written and/or illustrated work with others, both in the group and on-line.  All genres will be explored.

Members of this Club will also have access to Riverside’s state of the art iMac which now runs both iBooks Author and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.  We will also explore different apps for both iPad and Android that can enhance writing and illustration techniques.

The Riverside Writing and Illustration Club has set up a free blog on WordPress to keep parents and friends up to date with what is happening and to teach those interested the ins-and-outs of on-line blogging.   The blog page will also keep a complete list of dates for meetings for the next year in the About section.  Make sure to check the dates as the meetings move to Mondays during summer hours.

There is much fun to be had! Supplies will be provided.  Even if you cannot make every meeting, please come out and join us when you can.  Remember, all members will have access to the iMac at any time during open library hours to work on their creative masterpieces.  We hope to see you there!
