United Way Engaging in Biggest Community Conversation Ever

United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County is asking residents to choose the most important community priorities. On February 27 is launching the TOGETHER WE DREAM online survey. All residents of Windsor and Essex County are encouraged to let their voice be heard. (www.togetherwedream.ca)

In 2009, United Way engaged over 3,000 people from a broad cross section of the community. So far this time we have spoken to almost 750 people about their aspirations for the community. These community conversations were used to draft the questions on the 2014 TOGETHER WE DREAM survey. Now it is time for everyone in Windsor-Essex to have their say.

“No other organization or group engages the community to the extent that United Way does,” says Interim CEO Lorraine Goddard.

The survey runs from Thursday, February 27 to Thursday, March 13 at 6 p.m.  The survey is available online at www.togetherwedream.ca. Residents can also take the survey over the phone by calling 211 (multi-lingual services available), or fax your completed survey to 519-258-2346 Attention: Together We Dream Team.  Visit the website for additional options for completing a survey, including visiting any Essex County library computer terminal.

Respondents will be asked to rank a series of goal statements. These rankings, along with our own research will be used to determine where United Way will focus its resources from 2015 to 2020.

The survey is anonymous and it takes about five minutes to complete.  Respondents will be given the option to provide some demographic information in order for us to ensure we reach a broad cross-section of Windsor-Essex residents.

The results of the survey will be made public later this spring.
