Are you planning a trip in the near future? Not so near future? Scouting out exotic destinations for when your lotto numbers finally match up? Whatever the reason, keep in mind that you have access to helpful travel resources through the Windsor Public Library.

Travel e-Books are available through our Overdrive collection, and can be downloaded to your tablet or mobile device.  We have hundreds of guides for cities and countries world-wide from trusted publishers like Lonely Planet, Fodor’s, and Frommer’s.  Save yourself a few dollars and free up some space in your suitcase; talk about a win-win.

Our A-Z World Travel Database contains information for over 200 destinations.  It offers concise overviews, city maps, and important information about currency, emergencies, embassies, legal matters, travel safety, popular tourist attractions, and much more.  It has a Dynamic PDF Generator built in, which allows you to pick and choose only the information about your destination that you would like to save and print; perfect for anybody who is traveling light.  This database is also a great research tool for students.

mango appLooking to brush up on your language before you travel? We’ve got Mango! Mango Languages is an online resource that teaches conversational language geared towards real life situations; it also has a built-in translation tool, which can come in handy when you’re far from home and in a jam.  Mango contains lessons for over 60 different languages and is also available as an app, making it convenient to use on the go.

We also have hundreds of print travel guides available for checkout in our library branches.  You can search for them in the online catalogue, and then place a hold to have your copy delivered to the branch nearest to you.
