This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is of the old Windsor Central Fire Station. Located at 244 Pitt Street East between Windsor Avenue and McDougall Street. The fire hall was built in the late 1880s to early 1890s and served the fire department until 1970, when the new Central Fire Station was opened on Goyeau Street. This photograph was taken around 1963 during its final decade of service in helping fight fires in Windsor. The building was demolished not long after the Goyeau facility opened to make way for redevelopment of the area.
