If you are a frequent visitor to the Central Branch, you will have noticed a number of changes in the past year as fixtures and materials moved around. Just this past week, more new bookshelves arrived. Sounds of construction filled the first floor as the units were whirred and whapped together, and the second floor temporarily turned into a maze as the new fixtures queued up, waiting to be filled with books as the old shelves were emptied and disassembled.
Purchased with monies from the Library’s reserve fund, the new shelves are of differing heights and offer more possibilities for presentation of our collections. Windsor Public Library CEO Kitty Pope says the units will provide better security for library users and employees, as the rows are positioned with better sight lines.
We think you will also enjoy the bright and airy effect created by the blonde wood.
Thanks to our library visitors for working around the noise and inconvenience during the changes.
