The New Year is upon us and for many folks, the dawn of a new year means making resolutions for a happier and healthier lifestyle. The first ‘How-To’ workshop of 2018 aims to help you achieve this through the practice of mindfulness. For those who might be unfamiliar, mindfulness is the practice of being aware of your body, mind and feelings in the present moment. It’s thought to alleviate stress and anxiety in every day life and lead to a sense of calm and well-being.
This month’s workshop will be led by certified mindfulness facilitator Toni Coral of A Quiet Place. She will be joining us at Budimir Library on Saturday, January 13 from 11am-noon. Toni will be teaching participants how to use mindfulness as a technique to manage stress and improve resiliency and overall happiness. You’ll learn about the science behind the daily practice and will also have the opportunity to try a couple of forms of meditation.
