WebPublish the above survey feedback. ‘Made in Windsor’ should mean to ‘retain and enhance Windsor’s Main Library in it’s existing location’. A great Library building that was both designed and built as a ‘Main’ Windsor Library Building. To NOT consider a downsizing move of the Main Library to a second hand space elsewhere where it will just become another branch. Keep the Main Library where it is and consider inviting a new paying tenant like the Windsor Essex Pelee Island Tourist Bureau to share part of the space on Windsor’s main great Avenue of Ouellette Ave. An existing high profile, easily accessible by bus, walking and cycling location, centrally located and with ample parking. A existing Main Library Building that just received private donations to improve its spaces and programming in-situ. An open space structure that easily permits future alterations of its flexible space. Improve what we already have. Bring back the Cafe in a new format. Consider opening up spaces from the second floor to the first or the first floor to the lower level. Just look at the magnificent existing art at the Main Library that was commissioned and designed for specific locations inside. Many ways to both reinvigorate and update the existing Main Library while sharing costs. In fact cheaper to do so than relocation.
