WPL’s Featured Artist for the Month of November

Sue Cole is WPL’s featured artist of the month. Her exhibit, Interwoven is on display from November 1st to the 30th, 2016 at the Central Library branch Community Art Wall.

Interwoven is a collection of new (2016) woven textile work using both new and vintage wool and synthetic yarns. The weavings are intermixed with select drawing and paintings.

Inspired by spools of colourful yarn, Sue began weaving in January 2016 on a small homemade loom then upgraded to larger version.

“I’m really enjoying the process of weaving; it’s all new for me. It can be slow and requires being methodical. Yarn is such a versatile material to work with and it has a humble, homey quality. Each work is so different from the last, but they’re all authentically me.”

Make sure you take some time to view her artwork on your next visit to Central. It truly is beautiful.

How does one apply to be a featured artist on the community art wall?
