If you’ve ever had a chance to participate in one of our Family/Knit Looming Clubs then you’ll be aware of the great work that Lee Lee Hats does in the community. They are aiming to reach a milestone in the next couple of months – 100,000 hats donated to hospitals for newborns and for adults in need in the community, and they need your help reaching their goal.
Our friends at Lee Lee Hats rely on community donations of yarn to run their clubs throughout the community and they are currently facing shortage of yarn. As a result, they’ve started a yarn drive to help them reach this goal. They are asking the public to clean out their craft rooms of unused yarn or to pick up a ball at the store to donate to their project.
The yarn drive kicks off today and will wrap up at the Handmade Spring Extravaganza at the WFCU centre on April 30th.
All yarn is appreciated, from dime size ends to a full new ball of yarn. They ask that you include an index card sized paper in your bag with your name and contact information (phone/e-mail), as they would like to be able to thank you for your donation or include you in future give away promotions. Yarn can be dropped off at the following locations:
- Windsor Public Library Branches
- Essex County Library Branches
- Knit One Sew Too
- From Our Hands to Yours
- Babies and Bellies
- Crafters are Us
