Will there be a new South Walkerville branch of the WPL? Is this move to Remington Park a permanent move?

I see some construction activity next to the Optimist Community Center. Is this the start of a new library branch??

The South Walkerville branch has closed. The collection has been transferred to Remington Park.
Our new Optimist Community Centre branch will be permanent and will open in 2017.

Very upset with the fact you took the only library in the neighbourhood and moved it out of reach for us and most people in the walkerville area. South walkerville library should of remained open until the new library was ready. We go 1/week in the warmer weather and now we can no longer go to the library without taking a bus or walking 5+km. Very disappointed in windsor public library. It’s not even on a bus route anymore

I’m so disappointed that South Walkerville Library has been closed, after nearly 90 years in the community – and others to follow, I gather. It’s hard to see shutting down libraries as a remotely positive thing for Windsor (even if they’re supposedly not being closed but only “consolidated”).
I’m sure the library board were not to blame for this decision, so don’t take this as an accusation, but *someone* does not have the city’s best interests at heart.

    What will the hours be?
