What’s Cooking at WPL

It is time for another addition of Cooking at WPL. Our staff have been busy whipping up some delicious recipes from the excellent selection of cook books that we have in our collection. It appears that beyond researching, Internet and customer service proficiency, our staff can now say they have great culinary talents! Stacy: This Five-Alarm Chili was made from our America’s Test Kitchen New Family Cook book. This cook book features recipes from the television show Cook’s County which airs on PBS. This cook book features some great comfort food recipes that taste delicious and are easy to make! One of the great features of this cookbook is the “Why this recipe works” section which appears at the beginning of each recipe and describes how the flavours work together and what cooking methods worked best!

Danielle: The cook book I picked was “Mad for Muffins: 70 Amazing Muffin Recipes from Savory to Sweet” by Jean Anderson and the title pretty much says it all. This book is filled with unique recipes for those who love to experiment with muffin flavors. We made the delicious Whole Wheat Raisin Muffins with Cinnamon Sugar. Mmmm!

Andrea: Another great recipe from Rino’s Kitchen Cookbook: Pumpkin Walnut Cheesecake! This decadent and delicious cheesecake was made for a Windsor Public Library staff treat. The best part about this cheesecake is that it is a simple, no-fail recipe that even the most inexperienced baker could make.
