Library Celebrates National Hobby Month

With New Year celebrations behind us, why not make your resolution to adopt a brand new hobby?  Make 2015 the year that you try something different!

January is National Hobby Month and Windsor Public Library has organized a HAPPENIN’ HOBBIES OPEN HOUSE which will provide an opportunity for everyone to visit Central Library (850 Ouellette Avenue) on JANUARY 17 from 2-4 pm.

Plan to stop by and talk to members of our community who are passionate about their hobbies:  they include woodworking, sewing, writing, small electronics, ham radio, jewellery and drawing…to name a few.  There will also be related books and DVDs on display and available for checkout.

For more information, please contact Lea Burton at 519-255-6770, Extension 4552.

  1. EssexOGS are planning to display the unique collection of Family History books (held at the WPL, 2nd Floor). We will also be there to answer questions about genealogy as a hobby, and how you can become involved in the OGS volunteer organization. We also organize free family history presentations at the WPL on the 2nd Monday of every month (except July, August and December) – Feb 9th, 7pm is the next presentation.
