Ah January. We’re past the holiday craze and into the beginning of a new year; a time of renewal and resolutions. Unfortunately, I can’t believe how many times I’ve set up a resolution only to fail dismally almost immediately.
Last year was the first time I actually followed through on a resolution. Because… it was a reading resolution! One that made me smile, learn, laugh and expand my horizons. This is a resolution trend I plan on repeating year after year.
Last year my resolution was to read a New York Times Bestseller book each month. From Stephen King to Anthony Doerr, I read new authors and different genres (some I wouldn’t have read otherwise). I enjoyed most, loved some and had a blast each step of the way.
This year my resolution is a bit more enthusiastic, being a total of 50 books. My sister brought PopSugar’s Ultimate Reading Challenge to my attention (you can find it here). Some of the categories are so open, you can read just about anything (hallelujah!).
I’m looking forward to this resolution and hope some of your WPL blog readers will follow along with me. Once a month, I’ll be writing a brief review of the books I that I’ve read. If you’d like to see some of my choices, check out my ongoing list on BiblioCommons.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year; one full of fabulous reads!
