The History of Remembrance Day

The Windsor Public Library will commemorate the sacrifices Canadians have made in armed conflicts with a special presentation on the History of Remembrance Day.  This event will take place today, November 8th in the Casino Windsor Cares Laboratory at WPL’s Central location, starting at 2:00pm. Join us as we document the creation and history of this memorial day, talk about local commemorations being made to honour veterans, and share information about resources the library carries on the wars fought and sacrifices made by soldiers in battle. Join WPL today to learn about the History of Remembrance Day and make sure to pay recognition this upcoming Remembrance Day, November 11, which will mark the centennial observance of the First World War.
