Tween Scene Starts Tomorrow at Central!

Attention tweens aged 10-13! Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th, we’ll be running a weekly “Tween Scene” here at the Central Library on 850 Ouellette Avenue. I’m very excited to get started! We’ve got all kinds of exciting new board games to start things off and we have access to some great video games and, as with Teen Zone, all programs include a light snack.

This year I’m hoping we can make this program really special and do all kinds of different activities. I’m planning on including crafts on a regular basis (tweens will have the option of playing games if crafting isn’t their thing) and I have some special guests scheduled to do some really exciting guests coming in. We’ve got Teajai Travis coming in from The Bloomfield House to do a drum circle with us on October 15th and Mia Tannous from BANA  will be coming in on the last Wednesday of the month to talk about the media and body image. I’m looking forward to our exciting guests and programming but I’d still love to get feedback and suggestions from participating tweens. Tweens, if you’re reading this, this program is for you and don’t be shy with suggestions.

No registration is required and the program runs from 3:15 to 4:45 pm every Wednesday. Please note that the age range for this program is strictly 10-13 since children under 10 are not allowed in the library without a caregiver. Older teens are welcome to attend our regular Teen Zone programming on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have any questions please call Kate at 519-255-6770 x. 4434.
