Little Free Libraries – International Literacy Day

September 8th is International Literacy Day, and in honour of this event, today Windsor Public Library is proud to announce the official launch of the Little Free Libraries. Windsor Public Library, together with Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) and the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Life After Fifty, Essex Region Conservation Authority and the Douglas Marketing Group are happy to announce that the libraries will officially be coming to a community location near you!

In the next couple of weeks you will see the libraries in the following outdoor locations:

-Life After Fifty, 625 McEwan Ave. (Wyandotte & Campbell)

-John R. Park Homestead, 915 County Road 50 E, Harrow

-Ford City Garden, 971 Drouillard Road

-Chrysler Canada Greenway, Harrow entrance

-Caboto Club, 2175 Parent Ave.

As well, there will be several indoor locations which can be found at:

-Windsor Regional Hospital, 1995 Lens Ave

-Multicultural Council, 245 Janette Ave

-Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, 2121 Laurier Dr, LaSalle

-Ontario Public Interest Research Group, 372 California (beside Campus Community Garden) 

These libraries are run on the premise of “take a book, leave a book”, and we look forward to having you come visit them! Stay tuned for future libraries that will be coming to Windsor and Essex County in March.
